Our Special Day
We had a destination wedding in Las Vegas, as it's been a long running joke that I wanted Elvis to marry us.
My apologies to the King but we ended up taking a more traditional route in a picturesque place that offered a small chapel and a photography package.
We were joined by my mother, father, older sister, brother-in-law, younger brother, J's step mom, J's niece, J's older sister, J's older step sister, her child, J's younger step sister, J's older sister's fiancé, his daughter, my cousin, and my cousin's husband.
We held seats for J's late mother and younger sister who have both passed on.
We both have tiny families, so everyone who means the world to us were in attendance.
For our reception, we chose "Maggiano's Little Italy" because they had a small private room for rental and the food was agreeable for our party.
The signature cocktails we had on offer were a smoked old fashioned and espresso martini.
I personally think alcohol is pretty icky, but everyone who enjoys a fancy cocktail loved the theatrics of the old fashioned.
J and I aren't dancers, so we chose a plated dinner because one of the biggest gripes we have about weddings is going home hungry.
Everyone still talks about how much they liked the food and how lovely our ceremony was, so I call that a success.
Our wedding was many years in the making, but it was absolutely worth the wait!
